January Visiting Teaching Message {Free Printable}

I am passionate about missionary work and love any opportunity I get to share my beliefs and what brings me the greatest joy and peace in the world . . . the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I am FAR from comfortable with saying the right thing at the right time but believe our example and lifestyle is one of the best examples.
I have missed a few months, but hopefully am back in the swing of things with posting month visiting teaching printables.
Do download this months, click the download link below.

I love how it says that not only does "the Lord ENTRUST a testimony of truth" to us but expects the members to "declare His gospel with the sound of rejoicing" at ALL times.
LOVE!! I hope you enjoy!

Relief Society Garden Party {free conversation cards}

We have had quite a few new families move into our ward and many sisters have been in Primary, Young Women's, etc. that haven't met everyone. . . so, we decided to have Garden Party social for our monthly Relief Society meeting to meet everyone and find out more about those we know (or thought we knew).
Yes, I am aware that is a run on sentence:)
As everyone arrived, we had them take a skewer with a table number that told them which table to sit at and a worksheet to fill out about themselves (for our newsletter). Each plate had Sister Marjorie Pay Hinckley's quote, "The trick is to enjoy life, don't wish away your days waiting for better ones ahead" under it that they could take home. That was our theme for the night. . . being happy with where we are at now in life. It is not always a easy thing to do. My husband and I have been in school / residency since we got married almost 10 years ago and it is very easy to think/dream about when we will be done but I know these moments are to be cherished!
After all the ladies had their food, we started with the conversation cards on each table. Some tables picked one or two and everyone answered the same questions and the other tables just went around the table picking one each. There are 6 cards that say something along the lines, "If you have ever broken a bone, move to the next table." We were hoping this would give the sisters a better chance to talk to everyone.
You can download ALL of these papers for your next garden party by clicking on the images of the prints below. They can also be used for some conversation starter cards for FHE. The kit includes:
FOOD TENT LABELS: 3 pages with 4 labels per page, 1 page I left blank
TABLE NUMBER CIRCLES: To determine which table to sit at. Easy to cut out with 2" circle or 2" scallop punch. There are 6 circles per table and go up to Table 6
TABLE TOPPERS: 4" circle toppers to label each table, enough for 6 tables
CONVERSATION STARTERS: 4 pages with 12 conversation starters on each. Easy to cut out with 2" circle or 2" scallop punch. I made 5 copies of each to put on each table (We only had five tables not six)
ENJOY LIFE QUOTE: Round quote to put under each plate for the sisters to take home

It was soooooo nice to sit and chat with all the amazing, funny, sweet, and loving sisters in our ward! I could have stayed for a few more hours talking, laughing and eating. But, I think our lovely babysitters needed a break:)
Thank you to the presidency and other sisters who helped decorate, cut everything out and brought food. Also, a HUGE thank you to the babysitters who stayed extra late to watch my kids so I could clean up!
And thank you to Amy over at Sprik Space for providing the background pieces, seriously if you haven't downloaded them yet, you must!

June Visiting Teaching Message {free printable}

How is it June already??? I always think I can put off my visiting teaching and before I know it, the month is over. Sooooo, don't be like me and visit your lovely sisters before the last day of the month. This message is great for me as I tend to worry and feel bad about the "numbers" more than the visiting and serving. I don't always feel like I am doing any good visiting my sisters when my children are running around crazy, but I do know that we are asked to visit teach for a special reason. I also truly believe that who we visit isn't picked at random but prayerfully thought out. I am grateful for the chance to get to know my sisters better and for their example. I ALWAYS leave my sisters homes feeling like I can be a little bit better and a little bit stronger.
As usual, you can just download the 4x6 or the 8.5x11 with four messages to a page.

Happy visiting teaching!

May Visiting Teaching Message - General Conference Quotes {free 8x10 printable}

My attempts to have the visiting teaching messages done by the first day of the month are futile. . . especially when there were so many AMAZING talks at General Conference. Which is why I decided to make an 8x10 print with most of my favorite quotes, still couldn't fit all of them. I confess that I still haven't heard or read all the talks but I have truly benefited from what I have heard. I just found out my phone will read the talks to me. . . (I know, most of you already knew that) which is great while I am folding laundry, making dinner, working on orders, etc., etc., etc. I will gladly take any little bit of spiritual advice or uplifting messages I can get!
I hope you enjoy this month's handout and share it with the sisters you visit! Simply click the download button, print and deliver!

March Visiting Teaching Message {free printable}

Are the months flying by to anybody else??? How is it already March?? Time needs to slow down so my baby STOPS growing so fast.
You can find this month's visiting teaching message from the Ensign HERE. I so love the lesson taught here, that we are LITERALLY daughters of God. . . meaning we have been blessed with spiritual gifts to help build the kingdom of God here on earth. There is no doubt that woman have a great sense of compassion and sense when others are in need, and I love that through Relief Society we are able to help those sisters around us. I know I have been the fortunate recipient of many sisters help in my ward who have listened to the spirit in knowing that I needed a little boost:)
This month's printable is a 4x6, you can download just one per page (below) . . .
or two 4x6's per page (below). Just click the download button, print and deliver to your sisters!
This was my sad, sad attempt at making sugar cookies for the ladies I visit teach. I told my husband that I think there is something wrong with our oven because I have over-cooked or under-cooked just about everything lately . . . his response, "I guess there has been something wrong with our past 5 ovens than."
His not so subtle way of saying, "You are a terrible cook."
I am going to blame it on the little green guys who are already started to cause mischief around here:)

Book of Mormon Reading Chart

Our ward is VERY fortunate to be hearing from two amazing people tomorrow at our Relief Society activity about setting up and sticking to a personal and family scripture study schedule. One of which sent me a copy of what they give their kids to keep track of their daily reading schedule. I LOVE how you mark off each DAY you read instead of each CHAPTER you read that day. I definitely don't always finish a chapter a day and don't think that is what matters. I tweaked it just a bit but give all the credit to my friend.

I plan on printing them up on different colors of card stock, cutting them in half and using them as bookmarks. I know I am 16 days late getting this out but you can use it year after year. . . just white out the 29th of February:)

We just started consistently  reading the Book of Mormon every night to our boys (I know, I know we should have always been reading to them) and it is basically the only time during their waking hours when they are quiet. For those of you who know my 3 and 1 year old boys, that is A MIRACLE!

Gratitude Challenge {Free Printable}

I have been overloading you all with free printables and today I have yet another one. I know Thanksgiving is over but in the December Ensign, the First Presidency message is "The Choice to be Grateful." In the youth section, it has the idea of not just talking about our blessings but writing them down. Starting with 100 things. . . it is pretty easy when broken down into 10 categories:
Thank you to John Hilton and Anthony Sweat for coming up with these so I could make some printables:)
1. 10 physical abilities you are grateful for
2. 10 material possessions you are grateful for
3. 10 living people you are grateful for
4. 10 deceased people you are grateful for
5. 10 things about nature you are grateful for
6. 10 things about today you are grateful for
7. 10 places on earth you are grateful for
8. 10 modern inventions you are grateful for
9. 10 foods you are grateful for
10. 10 things about the gospel you are grateful for

I love this idea and plan on using it for Family Home Evening or anytime during the Christmas Season. By so doing, we can "receive the gift of a more grateful heart" as stated by President Henry B. Erying. That is a wonderful gift to have!!

October Visiting Teaching Message {Free Printable}

 As usual, I had a hard time paraphrasing this month's vistiing teaching message. Anything about Stripling Warriors, mothers, challenging Times, and not fearing always gets to me. Even when I wasn't a mother, I still felt like those Stripling Warriors held a special place in my heart, and now I know why. . . I have (soon to be) 3 of them that Heavenly Father has entrusted me with (still not sure why).
I love how Julie B. Beck says, "Latter-day Saint women who recognize that their strength comes from the Lord's Atonement do not give up during difficult and discouraging times. As covenant keepers, we excel at upholding, nurturing and protecting children and youth so that one day we might say of this rising generation, "Never had I seen so great courage, nay, not amongst all" (Alma 56:45)."
