Playroom Makeover

We have been in our home for over a year and thanks to the help of 2 Grandpas, we finally "finished" our playroom for the boys in our unfinished basement.
Here is the horrendous BEFORE
(and my sweet husband trying to fix the pull string on the light that breaks every time my son thinks he is a monkey and hangs from it)
We had a new baby and I didn't even know where to begin organizing it into something fun.
Here it is a several months later. . .
getting a little better (and  my baby is getting bigger:))
And with the help of my genius, handy man Dad who put in 2 lights AND a light switch (no more pull string to hang from), some carpet remnants, an armoire makeover, baskets to organize toys, swings installed by my husbands genius handy man Dad, we have a fun, bright and functional playroom!
Just in time for another boy to arrive in 5 months!! Yikes!

A little mod podge and fun paper turned our old armoire into a great closet for the toys.
(Yep, that is the little baby who is now a big boy)
I think the aluminum insulation walls give it the perfect touch;)

  1. Love it, love it. Is there a lock on the door too? Just for a moment of peace! ;) Hopefully your kids actually play down there. Something about making a playroom makes my kids want to play somewhere else. Everything looks so cute. LOVE the armoir with paper. What a fun idea!

  5. I think it's wonderful! I think that all kids need a wonderful place to spread out and play, and you gave that to yours (and the future kids, too). I laughed at the line about the walls, and I LOVED the mod podge on the armoir!

  8. I have a question about your cute ball light fixtures that look like they're made out of string. Did you make them or buy them? I'd love to figure out how to make some for our unfinished basement play/school area. Our bare light bulbs aren't very attractive!
